Ḏrty — the hands (dual). Auxiliary instruments of heka through gesture (the apotropaic and authoritative hand-positions illustrated in the Theban tomb painting record), through the writing of spells (since hieroglyphs were ḥkȝ-laden in themselves), and through the manipulation of ritual implements (knives, wands, censers). The Pyramid Texts repeatedly include 'his hands' as agents of magical action alongside the mouth. This point is rendered on one side; the bilateral nature of the hands is implicit in the dual ḏrty form.
