Instep / dorsum of foot

Dorsal foot target

The instep is the dorsum of the foot over the metatarsal bones and extensor tendons. It is a broad, easily oriented distal target in Kyusho-Jitsu lists, and variation in footwear, tissue, and individual anatomy makes any claimed pressure response non-universal.
